The Belmont Alliance Civic Association (BACA) will be opening up an activities park, a successor to their previous project Urban Thinkscape. BACA wanted us to come up with a logo and activity signage for Belmont Commons Cultural Activity Park that would fit in well with the look from Urban Thinkscape, as we'd be carrying over the few design elements to Belmont Commons. They requested that logo itself be an approachable, kid-friendly typographic mark that said "activity."
What came out was a custom, variable logotype with a mix of script and sans serif lettering. The rounded end organic elements give it a soft approachability, while the varied and offset lettering suggest a sense of movement. We also expanded the color palette to a mature but fun rainbow.
While working through the Belmont Commons logo, BACA also asked us to make a logotype for the parent organization. By the end of the project, BACA had a pretty extensive mini-brand, including a logo, park brand identity, and branded elements they can utilize in upcoming projects.
